Carolina Christian Academy combines curriculum standards established by the North Carolina Standard Course of Studyhttp://www.dpi.state.nc.us/curriculum/and the Georgia Standards of Excellencehttps://www.georgiastandards.org.

Our curriculum emphasizes the basics of reading, math and science while offering additional courses that challenge students to think critically and creatively, expand their world view, and live the gospel message.
CCA continually explores and reviews available texts for use in its classes.  We use a mixture of A Beka, Bob Jones, Saxon Math, and Purposeful Design education resources to motivate and encourage our students to love learning and to learn about a loving Savior. Our desire is to use the best available textbooks in each subject area which meet our criteria of academic excellence while presenting God's truth.

Teaching Methods

Teachers use a wide variety of teaching methods to meet each child’s learning needs. Our students encounter many different learning strategies on any given day:

  • They may participate in group reading, guided reading or guided writing.

  • Children frequently work at different “learning centers” within their classrooms, where they complete different types of tasks—some individually, some in groups, some visual, audible or tangible.

  • Students use technology as a tool (rather than an end unto itself) to learn how to research and express ideas.
